How to swap clothes online
In this aritcle I review the step by step process of using the internet to swap clothing and pre-owned fashion. Swapping instead of shopping is the wave of the future and much easier than you may think.
Things You'll Need:
You will need a basic digital camera
a computer
good natural light
Step
1
First you need to go through your closet. Grab anything you haven't worn in a year, doesn't fit, you don't like or doesn't suit you. Make two piles, one for the things that are shabby, out of style, worn out, stained or otherwise unsuitable to swap. Give that pile to goodwill. The other pile should contain fashionable items that still have a lot of wear left, but for one reason or another you no longer wear.
Step
2
Using good natural light and a black background such as a wood floor or neutral carpet, place your item flat and in good view. Photograph the item with the flash off (make sure it looks good through the view finder).
*Early morning and afternoon are good times to take photos. make sure there is plety of dissused light.
Be sure to photograph the front, back and designer label any any flaws the garment may have.
Repeat this process for each item you want to post.
Step
3
Upload your photos into your computer and be sure to label and file them so you can easily retrieve them.
Step
4
Using a fashion swapping site such as https://myfashionswap.com, register and one by one list each item you have for swap. Be sure to describe any flaws or stains and the size and measurements if needed. In the description process you will be prompted to upload a photo. Click on the browse button which will acces you computer's photo files. Search through them until you find them. The first time might be a little hard, but you will soon get the hang of it.
Tips & Warnings
Don't be afraid to experiment with your camera or computer. The best way to learn is just by doing.
Don't be afraid to ask the website for help. They are there to help you.
Don't be afraid to list valuable items for swap, but always trust your instinct with you fellow swappers. If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is.
Be wary of fellow newbie swappers. If swapping an expensive item, swap with a fellow swapper who has a reliable feedback score. If not, ask them to send their item out first.
Always report any problems to the webmaster.
